Send your Sister on a little bit of a hunt for some sipritual fufillment and fun.
On a recent Secret Sister reveal I created several note cards with biblical verse clues that sent her through the church trying ot discover who I was.

To start I provided her with the gift of a Bible & a card that in all ways seemed to be the final note expressing my feelings about the project and my experiance as her secret sister. Then I ended it with the message:

Somewhere hidden in this building are the answers you seek
Use the book as your guide and start with

In the bible I had underlied the clue word in the verse to direct her to the location of the next clue in this case it was ASK AND IT WILL BE REVEALED but this was only the begining... After she inquired about the card, my friends handed her the next clue.

Its all in the interpretation @ 10:43 pm

There are so many different versions of the bible that if you read the same verse in 3 different books each might speak to you in a different way. Take the following verse for example:

New International Version (NIV)

Passage Isaiah 1:18-20:

18 "Come now, let us reason together,"
says the LORD.
"Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.

19 If you are willing and obedient,
you will eat the best from the land;

20 but if you resist and rebel,
you will be devoured by the sword."
For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.

The Message (MSG)

Passage Isaiah 1:18-20:
Let's Argue This Out

18 -20"Come. Sit down. Let's argue this out."
This is God's Message: "If your sins are blood-red,
they'll be snow-white. If they're red like crimson,
they'll be like wool. If you'll willingly obey,
you'll feast like kings. But if you're willful and stubborn,
you'll die like dogs." That's right. God says so.

Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

Passage Isaiah 1:18-20:

18 Come, I pray you, and we reason, saith Jehovah, If your sins are as scarlet, as snow they shall be white, If they
are red as crimson, as wool they shall be!

19 If ye are willing, and have hearkened, The good of the land ye consume,

20 And if ye refuse, and have rebelled, [By] the sword ye are consumed, For the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken.

21st Century King James Version (KJ21)

Passage Isaiah 1:18-20:

18 "Come now, and let us reason together," saith the LORD. "Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as
snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land;

20 but if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword"; for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Write out on an index card or in a blank card the verse in as many versions as appeals to you.
2 great websites for access to multiple versions of the bible are http://bibleresources.bible.com/passagesearch.php (5 versions side by side) & http://bible.crosswalk.com/ParallelBible/ (2 versions side by side) You can even quote the differences &/or highlight the key words that changed or add a final version which would be your own translation & refer to it as such. Example:

Katherine Stepp Version - KSV
Lets talk about this
No matter how you come to me, what your past it will mean nothing I will wipe the slate clean - If you choose to follow me and do as I say, I will take care of you and provide the best to you. But if you refuse & betray/turn away from me and choose a path other than me then there will be nothing but death for you. I am God, if I say it, it is so!

By the way - I don't know a Katherine Stepp I just liked the way the initials worked out - A friend of mine who has the same initials often refers to her attempts at quoting scripture as the KSV - She inspired this idea.

Mathew 5:13-16 @ 10:08 pm

You are like salt for the whole human race. But if salt loses its saltiness, there is no way to make it salty again. It has become worthless, so it is thrown out and people trample on it. "You are like light for the whole world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a bowl; instead it is put on the lampstand, where it gives light for everyone in the house. In the same way your light must shine before people, so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven. The Good News Translation

"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. The New King James Version

In a basket (or bowl) Place a Salt Shaker (with salt) or a small box of salt - You can even use SEASONING SALT for extra added effect. Also place a light bulb in the bowl/basket - if they are a funky sort of soul you might want to use a light bulb that represents their personality like one of these:

Or you can put in a super bright flood light or just a regular high power standard lightbulb

In addition you can also add a photo of a city on a hill.

Another idea is to make a bracelet with a charm of a salt shaker, lightbulb, basket and a city. You can even add little babyshoes & a trashcan if you want to go all out.

Prayer Rock with poem @ 09:21 am

Use smooth rock from your yard and give it to someone with the following poem

(Author Unknown)

I'm your little prayer rock
and this is what I'll do.
Just put me on your pillow
'til the day is through.

Then turn back the covers
and climb into your bed,
and, whack! your little prayer rock
will bump you on the head.

Then you will remember
as the day is through,
to kneel and say your prayers
as you intended to.

Then when you are finished
dump me on the floor.
I'll stay there through the nighttime
to give you help once more.

When you get up next morning,
clunk! I stub your toe,
so that you will remember
your prayers before you go.

Put me back upon your pillow
when your bed is made,
and your clever little prayer rock
will continue in your aid.

Because your Heavenly Father
cares and loves you so,
He wants you to remember
to talk to Him, you know.

3. Sit Down..... Relax
as you have just walked
twice around the block
